About Futureworks
Futureworks warmly welcomes students from all around the world to join its diverse and innovative campus. Based in Manchester, a city known for its vibrant international student population, Futureworks offers a unique and enriching educational experience.
Manchester is home to a large international community of students from over 50 different countries, making it a dynamic and multicultural city. This cosmopolitan atmosphere extends to Futureworks, where students will find a supportive environment that values their unique perspectives and experiences.
Why Futureworks:
Location: Manchester has earned the nickname of the ‘music capital of the UK’. Home to the largest indoor arena in Europe, The Warehouse Project, Park Life Festival, and a myriad of live music venues – Manchester has produced, and plays host to, many of the biggest and best bands in the world. Manchester and its neighbouring city, Salford, are also home to Media City; a hub of events and creative activity. It is also home to both ITV and the BBC and some of the most creative production and post-production houses in the UK, creating opportunities for some outstanding media links and making it an even better place to study Futureworks' Filmmaking degree or Visual Effects degree courses.
Join A Creative Community: Futureworks prides itself on promoting a vibrant and interconnected creative community through its three main schools: the School of Art and Design, the School of Sound and Music Production, and the School of Film, Television and Media. Similar to how global creative communities overlap and collaborate to create films, games, and music, Futureworks' students are encouraged to do the same. By working together across all three of the schools, Futureworks students learn important people and communication skills, which are vital when they graduate into a career in the creative industries.
Ever-Evolving To Industry: Futureworks has maintained its specialist creative mentality and proven itself adaptable and agile, rapidly responding to a swiftly evolving and changing industry. By continuing to work with tutors who are practising industry professionals, investing wisely in new technology, and nurturing a proactive industry advisory group, Futureworks has flourished into a thriving creative community and a respected provider of higher education in the UK and beyond
Student Experience: Futureworks' Academic Quality and Standards Team ensures that students get the most out of their studies by ensuring that the institute's courses are reviewed, monitored, and enhanced on an annual basis, and that Futureworks is working with guidelines set by the relevant external bodies and partner university. Its quality assurance processes enable it to safeguard the academic standards of the courses it offers and provide students with the best possible student experience whilst they study at Futureworks.
Teaching and Methodology: Throughout students' time at Futureworks, they will be guided by highly qualified and experienced tutors. Their skills and contributions are vital in providing students with a high-quality vocational education. Combined with Futureworks' excellent links with industry employers, students will also attend engaging guest lectures and receive exciting opportunities to work on a variety of real-world projects. Futureworks is proud of its strong and current links with the creative industries and believes that this is what sets it apart when it comes to providing students with a more vocationally grounded higher education that prepares them for a rewarding creative career.
